KINESIOLOGY

WHAT IS KINESIOLOGY?

The practice of Kinesiology is the assessment of movement, performance and function. It includes the rehabilitation, prevention and management of disorders to maintain, rehabilitate or enhance movement, performance and function. Pickering Kinesiologists focus in the areas of sport, recreation, work, exercise, and activities of daily living.

Kinesiology Pickering brings together the principles of Ancient Chinese Medicine with western healing techniques to heal the body in a truly holistic manner. The western technique of muscle testing is used to gain energy information from the clients body. This information identifies the most beneficial treatment for the client, addressing underlying causes whether physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.

Pickering Kinesiologists are highly educated health care professionals who are experts in body movement. They use evidence-based research to develop rehabilitation programs for people, helping them get and stay fit, and performing at their optimum level. Kinesiologists believe in empowering people to look after their own health. They focus on prevention, wellbeing and productivity.

The Ontario Kinesiology Association (OKA) is the professional association which provides certification for Kinesiologists, helps uphold professional standards in the field, offers continuing education, and promotes public awareness of the science of kinesiology.
